Vital Information on GNIB Stamp 5

 Issued to non-EEA nationals who have lived in Ireland for at least 8  years and who have been permitted by the Minister for Justice and Law  Reform to remain in Ireland without condition as to time.  Holders of  this stamp do not need an employment permit or business permission in  order to work.

 

Important Information for Parents of Irish Citizen Children

 

 Following the recent judgment of the Court of Justice of the European  Union (CJEU) on the Zambrano case, the view of the effect of this ruling  in Ireland is that the parents of Irish citizen children, no matter what  their nationality or immigration status, must be given the right to live  and work in Ireland while the children are minors and are dependent on  them.

 Those people who think the judgment might affect them may may make  applications to the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS)  seeking the granting of residence permits, change of immigration status  or revocation of deportation orders.
 
 The documentation and information that is now being requested by the  INIS in relation to such applications are as follows:
 
 - colour copy of the bio-data page of the Irish citizen child’s  passport
 - the Irish citizen child’s original birth certificate
 - colour copy of the bio-data page of the applicant’s own passport
 - two colour passport size photographs of the applicant – signed on the  back
 - documentary evidence that the Irish citizen children is living in the  State
 - proof of applicant’s address and residence in Ireland
 - documentary evidence of the role the applicant is playing in her or  his child’s life  any other relevant information

 Additionally, applicants are requested to provide answers to the  following questions:
 have they ever been convicted of a criminal offence in Ireland or  abroad?
 are there any charges pending against them in Ireland or abroad?
